Summary: Grablo helps you scan grocery receipts, track your pantry items, and cook together with friends to reduce food waste. We only collect the data necessary to provide these features.
1. Information We Collect
Account Information
- Name, email address, and username when you create an account
- Password (stored securely using industry-standard hashing)
Pantry & Grocery Data
- Grocery items extracted from scanned receipts or photos
- Item names, quantities, categories, and expiry dates
- Trip/list names and organization preferences
Social Features Data
- Friends list and friend requests
- Cooking session data (recipes, preferences, ratings) shared between friends
Device Permissions
- Camera: Used to scan receipts and food items. Photos are processed to extract grocery information and are not stored beyond processing.
- Photo Library: Used to select existing photos of receipts for scanning.
Automatically Collected Information
- Device type and operating system version
- App usage data and crash reports
- Advertising identifiers (for serving ads)
2. How We Use Your Information
We use the information we collect to:
- Provide, maintain, and improve the Grablo app
- Process and analyze receipt images to extract grocery data
- Track pantry items and send expiry reminders
- Enable social cooking features with friends
- Generate recipe suggestions based on your available ingredients
- Send notifications about friend requests, cooking invitations, and expiring items
- Display relevant advertisements
- Analyze app usage to improve user experience
3. Third-Party Services
We use the following third-party services:

4. Data Storage & Security
Your data is stored securely on cloud servers provided by Supabase. We implement appropriate technical and organizational measures to protect your personal information, including:
- Encrypted data transmission (HTTPS/TLS)
- Secure password hashing
- Row-level security policies on database tables
- Access controls and authentication requirements
5. Data Sharing
We do not sell your personal information. We share data only in these cases:
- With your friends: When you use social cooking features, your ingredient data and cooking preferences are shared with the friends you choose to cook with.
- With service providers: Third-party services listed above that help us operate the app.
- For legal reasons: If required by law, regulation, or legal process.
6. Data Retention
We retain your data for as long as your account is active. When you delete your account, we will delete your personal data within 30 days, except where we are required to retain it for legal obligations.

You have the right to:
- Access the personal data we hold about you
- Correct inaccurate or incomplete data
- Delete your account and associated data
- Export your data in a portable format
- Withdraw consent for data processing at any time

8. Children's Privacy
Grablo is not intended for children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If we discover that we have collected information from a child under 13, we will delete it promptly.
9. Advertising
Grablo displays advertisements through Google AdMob. These ads may use device advertising identifiers and usage data to show relevant advertisements. You can opt out of personalized advertising through your device settings:

10. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of any significant changes by posting the new policy within the app or by sending you a notification. Your continued use of Grablo after changes are posted constitutes your acceptance of the updated policy.
